Our personnel is one of our biggest assets and we know what it takes to deliver a program with purpose, providing swimmers with one of the most important skills for life. We have committed staff who are knowledgeable and passionate in teaching the art of swimming to people of all ages and swimming abilities. At ELSC our staff are qualified to industry standards, dedicated and motivated to increase their professional skill scope through further industry related professional development courses.
The ELSC staff are trained to deliver quality lessons at all levels within our swimming school holding specialised qualifications in Infants and Pre-school Aquatics, Competitive Strokes and Special Needs/Access & Inclusion. We’re a registered swim school with Swim Australia and have strong working partnerships with the Newcastle Branch of the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia, Surf Lifesaving and various school groups. Our Instructors all hold either Austwim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification or Swim Australia Teacher (SAT) qualification with Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA).
ELSC staff are first aid trained and attend scheduled in-house CPR and emergency response training (ERT) sessions to ensure all staff are educated and equipped to effectively respond to any emergency. In accordance with the NSW Government Office of the Children’s Guardian, all staff members over the age of 18 are required to have their working with children clearance as a condition of employment with ELSC.
Collectively ELSC staff have worked in the aquatic and fitness industry over many decades and list an impressive resume of aquatic venue management, program creation and delivery. The program team are also qualified swimming instructors and junior squad coaches and have strong partnerships with local aquatic sporting groups such as still and open water swimming, competitive swimming, triathlon, water polo, surfboard riding, surf lifesaving, scuba & free diving.
